CEDAR CEMETERY

We lost several trees this past winter due to severe winds. We were very fortunate that when they fell, they missed all headstones and no damage was incurred.

We then felt it was prudent to do a survey of all the trees.  Unfortunately, we had quite a large number of dead trees due to the Spruce Bug infestation.  We had a portion of these trees removed and the stumps ground down.  We will have to remove more trees this fall.  Although it's objectionable to all to remove trees, we can't incur the risk of possibly damaging or destroying the headstones - some of which are very old and irreplaceable.  First, we will proceed with the utmost care and leave our cemetery as beautiful as ever.  We will plant new trees and shrubs where applicable.

Cedar Cemetery is located on the 4 Mile Block Road, South of M-134 in Cedarville.

An updated cemetery map (listed by owner) is posted on the Pavilion to assist you in locating sites.  If you are seeking a particular grave site, please contact the Clerk's office for assistance.

Landscaping & maintenance of all roads, green areas, unsold burial plots and privately owned barrier-free burial plots is provided by Cemetery Sexton Jeff Promo.  Single graves, ½ lots (2 burial spaces), and full lots (5 burial spaces) are available.  Contact the Clark Township Clerk for pricing, burial permits, and regulations on markers, memorials, plantings & decorations.

We are pleased to announce that the Clark Township Board of Trustees has approved a cemetery 209 fund. This means that anyone can donate to this fund, even by way of their will and these funds can only be used for the Cemeteries Funds in a 200 account can be carried over from year to year and can be earmarked for specific reasons. These funds are not used for routine maintenance and upkeep that would still come from the General Fund.We encourage everyone to spread the word about this and to donate if possible. You could also designate donations to this fund when a loved one passes away. Feel free to contact Clark Township Clerk, Susie Rutledge, with any questions you may have.

NO DOGS ALLOWED IN THE CEMETERY.  WE HAVE HAD MANY COMPLAINTS FROM PEOPLE WHO FEEL IT IS DISRESPECTFUL TO THEIR LOVED ONES TO HAVE DOGS DOING THEIR "BUSINESS" ON THE GRAVE SITES.
