Assistant Administrative Staff
The following are the assistant staff people who answer telephone calls, prepare reports and minutes, prepare bills for sewer and airport, and provide general information to the public. The staff will often interact with other Township officials to assist with coordination of information, services, problem resolution, and Township concerns from the community.
The positions of deputy treasurer and deputy clerk are required by law; the deputy supervisor serves at the discretion of the supervisor
Here is a brief description of each of the staff’s main duties and responsibilities.
Deputy Clerk Illyene Pickles
The Deputy Clerk maintains Township records and documents; community center and township hall rentals; invoices airport fuel bills; records and prepares the minutes of the Township board meetings; manages accounts payable and payroll; and assists with elections and ballots.
Deputy Treasurer Heather Black
The Treasurer’s office provides tax information, manages winter and summer tax statements; works with the harbor master regarding marina docks maintenance and slip rentals; coordinates maintenance services to the Heritage Park; and oversees the recycling and transfer station in conjunction with Green for Life.
Deputy Supervisor Paula Badour
The Deputy Supervisor records minutes and prepares agendas for the Planning Commission, Sewer Advisory Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, Recreation Committee; prepares the Township board meeting agenda; assists with water sampling kits; assists with property card information; assists with grant writing; maintains various permit application forms; and contributes to the webpage.
Billing Clerk Deborah Beukema
The Billing Clerk is responsible for sewer billing, collections and invoicing; website updates; invoices utility service bills; orders and manages supplies for all offices; distributes mailings; invoices ambulance billing and coordinates with local hospitals for ambulance service data; and assists with cemetery inquiries.
